The death of Brooke Bennett, a 12 year old from Vermont, has been ruled a homicide, federal prosecutors say. Bennett, who had been missing for over a week when her body was found in a shallow grave one mile from her uncle's house, was allegedly kidnapped by her uncle and forced into a child sex ring. If Bennett's uncle is found guilty of kidnapping resulting in murder, he could face the death penalty.
Hurricane Bertha, and her big ol' butt, is gaining intensity. The storm moved up to a category three yesterday with sustained winds of 115 miles per hour. As it looks now, Bertha may hit Bermuda in the coming days.
