Some of your American beers may take on a Belgian or Brazilian feel as Anheuser sells out to InBev for $50 billion. This merger will create the world's largest beer maker, which will be called Anheuer-Busch InBev. I will be happy as long as my Bud Light stays crisp and refreshing, and as long as I don't feel compelled to get a Brazilian bikini wax after having a few too many. O.u.c.h.

The U.S. Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve announced plans to back mortgage finance companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The Fed offered Fannie and Freddie access to its emergency cash while the Treasury said that it would boost the line of credit offered to the two companies. Both companies are owned by shareholders but government sponsored.

News you can lose:

Felicitations! is in order for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, as the couple welcomed their twins, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marshaline Saturday evening. Both babies weighed 5 pounds and were delivered C-section. Doctors from the hospital in Nice, France where they were born report that the babies and parents are doing well.

Word of the Day:

The Smartini girls might be slightly puerile in their rants about irksome things this week.
