While You Were at the Bar 5/9

Wanna know WTF is going on here?

News you can use:

Iraqi officials report the capture of the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Ayyub al-Masri on Thursday. They claim he was captured in a raid on a house in Mosul, after receiving information from a reliable source. U.S. military officials are skeptical of the capture since al-Masri has been reported captured or dead several times before.

On Thursday New York Congressman Vito Fossella admitted to having an extramarital affair in which he fathered a child. Questions arose after his arrest in Virginia last week on DUI charges when he told officers that he was visiting his daughter in the area. Fossella has three children with his wife in Staten Island, NY.

Fighting in Lebanon has begun again between Hezbollah and the Lebanese government. Hezbollah claims that the government declared war by targeting its military communications network. So far fighting has killed 10 people and wounded 20.

News you can lose:

After Jason Castro was booted off American Idol Wednesday night, he spoke with reporters Thursday. In the interview, he remarked "Nothing comes as a surprise if you don't expect it." Wait, what? I'm sure there's some other intended meaning here, but I'm thinking that if I'm not expecting someone to come jumping out of the closet, it's going to come as a real big surprise.

Word of the Day:

sub rosa: secretly; privately; confidentially

"Give me some of that sub, Rosa!" or perhaps "Let's keep this on the s.r."
