While You Were at the Bar 4/29

Don't know who all these girls with drinks are? Click here.

News you can use:

Some sicko in Austria has confessed to keeping his daughter in a sound proof cellar for 24 years and fathering 7 children with her. Apparently the man hid the secret from his wife, the girl's mother, the whole time. He told her that the daughter had run away, initially, and later had left three of her children on their doorstep for them to raise (three of the seven were allowed out and were raised by the man and his wife).

The colossal squid that was caught almost a year ago is being thawed so that scientists may study it, however briefly. Once the squid is fully thawed scientists in New Zealand will have mere hours to study it before having to inject it and fill the tank with formaldehyde.

Vietnam will stop adoptions to Americans after a recent U.S. Embassy report showed the practice in a bad light. There were reports of baby stealing, among other things, that the Vietnamese government did not agree with and thus cancelled the agreement it held with the U.S. regarding adoptions.

Good news! A study finds that dark chocolate is good for pregnant women by reducing their chance of preeclampsia!

News you can lose:

All sorts of straight laced people are in a tizzy after seeing Miley Cyrus' pose for Vanity Fair. What.ever. The real issue here should be all those ribs you can count on her back! Somebody throw that girl a burger!

Word of the day:

chimera

What silly way can you use chimera in a sentence? Impress us!

Monday's WOD, posit, means 1. To assume as real or conceded 2. To propose as an explanation; to suggest 3. To dispose or set firmly or fixedly. Congratulations to Andi for her sentence "Sweet Pea gets so absorbed in her TV program, she really doesn't like when I posit to ask her questions (gotta love Tivo!)"

That squid article was. . .intriguing. Who knew so much preparation had to go into something like that to pull it off successfully.

I haven't seen the "embarassing" pictures. . I didnt see them in the link, did I miss them?
