While You Were at the Bar 4/25

Need an introduction to the regulars at the bar? Click here.

News you can use:

The White House is calling upon Syria to come clean about its nuclear activities. Intelligence suggests that North Korea is helping Syria to build a nuclear reactor.

Nelson Peltz, the owner of Arby's, has succeeded in buying Wendy's for 2.3 billion dollars. Pam Thomas Farber, daughter of Wendy's founder Dave Thomas, said that Dave would not be happy with this turn of events.

Actor Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison and one year of probation for tax evasion. He was convicted of willfully failing to file his taxes for three years in February, and received one year for each count.

News you can lose:

Tom Cruise will again make an appearance on "Oprah". It's not clear what the show will be about but it will be just in time for May sweeps and the 25th anniversary of Cruise's break out movie "Risky Business".

Word of the Day:

winsome

It's Friday, yay! Let's celebrate by me giving you a sentence: "You winsome, you lose some, it's all in how you take the shot: toss it back like a woman, or sip it like a girl coughHillaryClintoncough."

Thursday's WOD, miasma, means: 1. A vaporous exhalation (as of marshes or putrid matter) formerly thought to cause disease; broadly, a thick vaporous atmosphere or emanation 2. A harmful or corrupting atmosphere or influence; also, an atmosphere that obscures; a fog.

Wow, that sounds like some nasty stuff... it could really mess up miasma.

Congratulations to Pen, who is the best player alonger ever, for her sentence "I like drinking miasmas on a Sunday morning, they're like, so bubbly and orange!"

Tom Cruise will surely winsome more Crazy Points with his next Oprah appearance. (And I can't wait.)
