Open Bar

You might have noticed the action is a little slow here at the bar. So many moonlighting responsibilities for our barmaids, and so little time! In honor of Cinco de Mayo, May’s best bar holiday, we’d like to open up the bar to our readers: have any burning questions, comments, or suggestions for the Smartini gals? Future Weekly Special ideas? Please let us know! In spite of our spotty attendance, we remain, as always, happy to serve. Cheers!

8 tips left at the bar:

I would like to ask the following:
How many bras do you own?

How many pairs of shoes do you have in your closet vs. the number you actually wear regularly.

I would like to know how in the hell Pen got a hold of that picture of me.

That's what I would like to know.

RIGHT.

Andria, did my husband pay you to ask that second question? Be honest.

Also, the questions are for everyone, right? Maybe it should be our next Weekly Special...

R, that picture was taken post-hot tub, obviously. ;)

I know it's a little late, but I did a tequila lime glazed cornmeal cake. Sort of a margarita on a plate! Well, sort of.... Love the title and format of your blog, btw!

i have a question... i am really lost when it comes to ordering good drinks. i know about 4 things i like and people will hand me things that are tasty and i forget what they were the next time i go out. so what are 2 or 3 of your favorite, out and about drinks that i should add to my oh-so-short list? currently, i know i enjoy guinness, margaritas of the fruit and non-fruit variety, white wine, hard ciders. yes, i like fruity girl drinks mostly. i figure the guinness has something to do with the coffee-like aftertaste maybe? light beers = gross to me. i think i don't like the hops maybe...

~Sarah: my go-to drink when I'm purchasing at a club or restaurant is a Long Island Ice Tea simply because you're going to get the biggest bang for your buck - it's got a lot of alcohol that goes into it, so it's harder to water it down. Or I do just a Rum and Coke or Jack and Coke. But these are not really fruity girly drinks, though, soooo. . .perhaps an Amaretto Sour or Tom Collins or White Russian or Mai Tai or Mojito? Or just pick an ingredient you do like and ask the bartender for a fruity drink with it in it?

well, other than wine, that is.
