This story is actually an older article I found when first checking out Tempe's suggestion of consulting drudgereport.com , but I still find it so WTFriday worthy, I had to post.
Is it just me, or is this a tad case of over-reacting? Perhaps I can understand the concern, but is this even enforceable? And it seems cruel to force high school kids (where image and popularity are so critical and impacting) to do something so extreme!

Oh good grief. I mean, combatting gang violence is important, yes, but really?! If it's so important, couldn't the kids have the option to pencil in the shaved spots?
On a side note, this girl in my high school once went on vacation to some island over Christmas break, came back with her eyebrows completely gone, saying that was the fashion on the island? WTF? Looked like a complete jackass. And so the next day came back in with her eyebrows drawn on. Snarf. I still laugh when I think about it.
