News you can use:

Today is tax day. If you haven't filed your taxes yet, start to sweat.

Delta and Northwest announced today that they will merge to form the largest carrier in the world, in terms of traffic. There is no mention of which routes will be scaled back or cancelled and no specific number placed on the amount of people who have their jobs cut or transferred. So now there are going to be even less seats available. Fan.tastic. said the girl who was about to buy a plane ticket from DELTA.

Former President Jimmy Carter will continue with this plans to meet with the Islamic militant group Hamas. The trip to Israel has ruffled more than a few feathers on the global political stage due to Hamas' history of violence with Israel. Carter hopes to act as a conduit between Hamas and Washington and seeks to aid in the quest for peace in the region. Whatever it takes, even if it's a peanut farmer from Plains!

Senator John McCain stepped into the ring to take a jab at Barack Obama after his comments to wealthy donors last week "that small-town Pennsylvania voters, 'bitter' over their economic circumstances, 'cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them' as a way to explain their frustrations" came to light. McCain called Obama's comments " 'elitist' and a 'fundamental contradiction of what I believe America’s all about' ".

New you can lose:

The CMT Music Awards were Thursday night. Walking the red carpet before the show was Maureen McCormick, aka Marcia Brady. What? Apparently Marcia, Marcia, Marcia put out a country album in 1995. Click on the photo and you will see what Maureen is putting out now.

Word of the Day:

voluble

Can you use voluble in a sentence, especially if you don't know the definition?

Yesterday's word of the day, importunate, means troublesomely urgent; overly persistent in request or demand; unreasonably solicitous. Congratulations to me for my sentence "I will continue to be importunate about asking for word of the day sentences". So there.

voluble: At night, when K. Lo doesn't want to sleep, her displeasure becomes increasingly voluble until it disrupts the whole household.

P.S. On the Delta front, I might know the PR firm handling merger communications. You should be fine to buy a ticket. :)
