Dry Martini

It will be a few weeks before *real* TV starts up again, and even then, only a few shows as the others take even longer to trickle back in. I know it’s the holidays, and there’s plenty to focus on—shopping, wrapping, baking, traveling, moving across the country again for the second year running. (Pop quiz: which barmaid is this nuts? And also so smartini, considering her reasons for going.) And there are a few things to watch on TV, from ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas to a new and fabulous season of “Better off Ted.”

But, especially after the start of the new year, when all the Christmas specials have run their course, this barmaid wants to know: What will you watch? Perhaps full television shows on DVD from Santa? Back episodes of missed TV on hulu and the DVR? Or drying paint on the wall. I’m just not sure what to do with myself until Jim and Pam return, not to mention the hot doctors of Seattle Grace and the brilliance that will hopefully be “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains.”

Please advise, as will soon be dying in the pop culture desert, from thirst.

Love the new look! Makes all of you girls look much thinner and younger ! :)

Merry Merry- !

Thanks, BJ! I should note that it was a completely unauthorized change, undiscussed with the other barmaids while they're busy with the holidays. ;) Maybe I'll tack some pictures on the walls in the next few days to jazz it up even more.

Merry Christmas!

I am old and boring and usually stick to whatever is on the Discivery channel or Food Network! I like the new digs, Pen! :).

And I wouldn't have ANY idea who would be foolish enough to move half-way across the country at Christmas two years in a row... Someone who is nucking futs, I think.

Woah. I suddenly walked into a very swanky bar :)

While at home, it will probably be a combination of library/Christmas/Netflix DVDs, Food Network while I've got access to their more expanded cable, and trying to avoid their love of HGTV.

I don't know why I never think to fall back on FoodTV and HGTV, both of which I love. I used to watch them all the time... Iron Chef and House Hunters, anyone? :)

Wow! Look at you, Pen, single-handedly trying to keep the bar afloat!! Love the new slim, trim swanky look!

I recently looked for Home Alone to record, because I thought the kids might get a kick out of it. Home Alone 2, 3 and 4 (?!?!) were all playing, but not the original! Until, finally last night it came on! Yay! I'm still looking forward to watching a non-cartoon movie with them.

American Idol, I suppose. Should be interesting with Ellen, if she doesn't talk too much? I enjoyed her guest stint on SYTYCD, wasn't it before? And, speaking of, are they doing another season soon or will it be summer or fall again?

i dont know why you ladies are letting Pen drink alone... but i suppose if she's serving it should be all right.

i'm addicted to netflix- that's my backup, oh and books crazily enough. lifetime movies? maybe? or holiday music on sirius.

Books...?

Kidding. I'm loving my geeky job research non-fiction book at the moment.

I really hope Santa sends me a Netflix g/c for Christmas. So I can up my subscription for just a little while and gorge on all the stuff the library doesn't have.
